The Tyler Perry Studio is set to host the 2019 Miss Universe Pageant.
Tyler’s studio is a new studio independently owned by Tyler Perry. It had its grand opening gala in October and was widely praised.
The studio is strategically located at Atlanta, on a 330-acre property which used to be a confederate army base. The studio has 12 sound stages built to recognize black luminaries in the movie industry. Some of those honored include; Oprah Winfrey, Will Smith, Whoopi Goldberg, Spike Lee and John Singleton.
Tyler Perry Studio is the first of such studios independently owned by a black man. It is an outstanding achievement of historic significance in an industry where black filmmakers are largely underrepresented.
The 2019 Miss Universe Pageant holds on December 8, 2019, with contestants arriving Nov. 20. The three-hour event will start at 7 p.m. ET. Ones I don’t know, ones I may never know… all the way back to the ancestors who prayed for one day a generation to be able to be in this position. So I’m humbled by it.” Tyler Perry is an actor, a writer, a producer and a director. He’s won several awards.
